Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt for seasoning
  • Pepper for seasoning
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Orange Sauce

  • ½ cup Florida Orange Juice
  • ½ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup rice wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp. cornstarch
  • ½ tsp. ground ginger
  • ½ tsp. white pepper
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes

Garnish

  • Green onions, sliced
  • Toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together minced garlic, Florida Orange Juice, honey, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, cornstarch, ground ginger, white pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes until fully combined and smooth.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Season the chicken pieces generously with salt and pepper. Add the chicken to the pan and sauté for 4 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
  3. Add the sauce: Pour the prepared orange sauce into the sauté pan with the chicken. Stir well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  4. Thicken the sauce: Bring the sauce to a boil on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Allow it to boil until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, coating the chicken thoroughly.
  5. Serve: Remove the pan from heat and serve the orange chicken immediately over rice. Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds for an added burst of flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Ensure the chicken pieces are cut uniformly to cook evenly.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water or orange juice to loosen it.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to taste for desired heat level.
  • Serve with steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
