Main Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon yellow curry paste
- ¾ cup full fat coconut milk
- ¼ cup vegetable broth or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Kikkoman® Fish Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Kikkoman® Gyoza Dumpling Dipping Sauce
- 1 cup carrots, chopped
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 12 frozen vegetable or chicken gyoza
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F to prepare for baking the dish evenly.
- Sauté Aromatics: Heat vegetable oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until soft and translucent. Next, stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional 30 seconds to release their aromas.
- Add Curry Paste and Liquids: Stir in the yellow curry paste to coat the onion mixture evenly. Then pour in the full fat coconut milk, broth (vegetable or chicken), fish sauce, and gyoza dipping sauce. Mix well to blend all flavors for the sauce base.
- Add Vegetables: Add the chopped carrots, broccoli florets, and sliced red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir gently to coat all the vegetables in the curry sauce.
- Arrange Gyoza: Place the 12 frozen vegetable or chicken gyoza evenly on top of the vegetables in a single layer. Spoon some of the curry sauce over each dumpling to keep them moist while baking.
- Bake Covered: Cover the skillet tightly with foil to lock in steam. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, allowing the vegetables to become tender and the gyoza to cook through.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for an additional 5-7 minutes to brown the gyoza lightly on top, adding texture and color.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro. Serve hot for a delicious and hearty meal.
Notes
- You can use either vegetable or chicken gyoza based on your preference.
- For a richer curry flavor, use full fat coconut milk as suggested.
- If you prefer a spicier dish, increase the curry paste slightly or add a pinch of chili flakes.
- Make sure to cover the skillet tightly with foil to steam the gyoza properly before browning.
- This recipe is versatile and can be made vegetarian if vegetable gyoza are used and fish sauce is replaced with soy sauce.
