Florida Orange Rolls are a delightful twist on classic sweet rolls, infused with the bright, zesty flavor of Florida orange juice and marmalade. These soft, buttery rolls are glazed with a luscious orange-flavored icing, making them perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet snack. The combination of citrus and brown sugar adds a rich, tangy sweetness that pairs beautifully with the tender dough.

Ingredients

Scale

Florida Orange Rolls

  • ½ cup Florida Orange Juice Marmalade
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • Refrigerated dough (enough to roll out to a rectangle, approx. 1 package)
  • ½ tsp kosher salt

Florida Orange Glaze

  • ¼ cup Florida Orange Juice
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • ¼ cup milk
  • A dash of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: Roll out the refrigerated dough into a long rectangle, ensuring it’s evenly flattened for easy rolling.
  2. Spread marmalade: Evenly spread ½ cup of Florida Orange Juice Marmalade over the surface of the dough to add a vibrant citrus flavor.
  3. Add butter and sugar: Pour ½ cup melted butter over the marmalade, then sprinkle 1 cup brown sugar evenly. Finish with a sprinkle of ½ teaspoon kosher salt to balance the sweetness.
  4. Roll the dough: Starting at the long side farthest from you, carefully roll the dough toward you, keeping it tight. Pinch the edges to seal the roll securely.
  5. Cut rolls: Slice the rolled dough into 1 to 1 ½ inch thick rolls. Place the rolls into buttered pans with some space between each.
  6. Allow rolls to rise: Let the rolls rise for at least 20 minutes at room temperature to become fluffy and light.
  7. Preheat oven: While rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake rolls: Bake the rolls for 15 to 18 minutes or until they turn golden brown but not overly dark.
  9. Prepare the glaze: While the rolls bake, mix together ¼ cup Florida Orange Juice, 1 lb powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons melted butter, ¼ cup milk, and a dash of salt until smooth to create the Florida Orange Glaze.
  10. Glaze the rolls: Immediately after removing the rolls from the oven, drizzle the orange glaze generously over the warm rolls.
  11. Serve: Serve the rolls warm or at room temperature for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • To make the Florida Orange Glaze more pourable, gradually add additional Florida Orange Juice until desired consistency is reached.
  • Refrigerated dough is used for convenience, but homemade dough can be substituted for a more natural flavor.
  • Use kosher salt for balanced seasoning; regular table salt can be used but in smaller quantity.
  • These rolls are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
