Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups (135g) Rolled Oats
  • 1/2 cup (60g) All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 cup (50g) Brown Sugar (base)
  • 1/4 cup (57g) Melted Butter (base)
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) Salt

Filling Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (50g) Brown Sugar (filling)
  • 1/4 cup (57g) Softened Butter (filling)
  • 1 tbsp (8g) Ground Cinnamon

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (60g) Powdered Sugar
  • 12 tbsp (15-30ml) Milk
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper to ensure easy removal and clean-up.
  2. Make the base: In a bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix thoroughly until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of your prepared pan, forming an even layer.
  3. Prepare the filling: In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until smooth and well mixed. Spread this cinnamon filling evenly over the oat base. For a decorative touch, swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  4. Bake the bars: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and the center is set and no longer jiggly.
  5. Make the glaze: While the bars are cooling, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Start with 1 tablespoon of milk and add more as needed to reach your desired drizzle consistency.
  6. Glaze the bars: Once the bars have cooled completely, drizzle the glaze evenly over the top. Allow the glaze to set fully before cutting the bars into 9 squares.
  7. Serve: Enjoy these delicious cinnamon roll oatmeal bars as a sweet breakfast treat, snack, or dessert.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake to avoid dry bars; edges should be golden brown but the center set.
  • Press the oat base firmly into the pan to prevent crumbling when sliced.
  • Allow bars to cool completely before cutting for clean squares and to set the glaze properly.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the glaze by varying the amount of powdered sugar or milk as desired.
