Crispy and flavorful air fryer sweet potato fries seasoned with olive oil, smoked paprika, and mixed herbs for a delicious and healthy snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Sweet Potato Fries

  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sweet smoked paprika (or substitute with Cajun seasoning, BBQ seasoning, or garlic granules)
  • ½ tsp mixed herbs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sweet Potatoes: Peel the sweet potatoes and slice them into ½ cm thick sticks to create fries.
  2. Season the Fries: Place the sliced sweet potatoes in a bowl, drizzle with 1 tsp of olive oil and toss well to coat evenly. Sprinkle over the smoked paprika, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands to ensure all pieces are evenly covered with the seasoning.
  3. Air Fry in Batches: Arrange the fries in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Cook for 10-15 minutes at 180-200°C (350-400°F), shaking or tossing the fries after 5 minutes to promote even cooking and browning. Do this in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  4. Final Crisping: After all batches are cooked, return all fries to the air fryer basket, give them a good shake, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through and achieve extra crispiness.
  5. Serve: Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • You can customize the seasoning by substituting paprika with Cajun, BBQ seasoning, or garlic granules based on your preference.
  • Cut fries evenly to ensure consistent cooking.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow air circulation for crispy fries.
  • Serve immediately as they are best enjoyed fresh and crispy.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain crispiness.
